Sudanese Delegation Visit Ethiopian Civil Service University
Sudanese Government delegation visited Ethiopian Civil Service University on November 26, 2015 to get experiences and engage in dialogue with the University`s officials on ways to strengthen the two countries relation in education, social and economic affairs.
The delegation includes high-ranking representatives (state ministers, expertise, and Officers) from various states of the Sudan. The delegation is led by H.E. Bashier Hammed Ibrahim, Minister, Ministry of culture, youth and sports.
At the opening of the visit ECSU President, Dr Hailemichael Aberra extended his warm welcome to the delegation. He said we are happy to have the brotherly people of Sudan to Ethiopian Civil Service University. He shared information about Ethiopia`s Governance Structure and education system. Furthermore he explained the structure, governance, achievements and challenges and main activities of each school and institute of the University.
He said over the last 20 years more than 24,000 civil servants graduated from the University in different specialized programs and contributed to the development of the civil service systems of the country. In the coming years we will work to fulfil our vision- to make our university a center of excellence in public service capacity building in Africa by 2025.
Dr Mulugeta Debebe, vice president for training and consultancy of ECSU said this meeting is helpful in order to strengthen and extend collaboration; a cooperation agreement among the team and ECSU in the future.
“Our long-standing partnership with the Ethiopian and educational partnerships with ECSU paved the way for this successful collaboration and we will explore ways of expanding it. Besides, we could get first-hand information about the work of the Ethiopian Civil Service University on building the capacities of the civil servants of the country”said Bashier Hammed Ibrahim,leader of the delegation. He added within the last 20 years Ethiopia has achieved what I could call it a ‘miracle’. First stability in diversified nationalities and then economic development, this is a great experience for my team.
The delegation visited different facilities in the University and met Sudanese students who have got a scholarship at Ethiopian civil serves university.
