Training on “Basics of HIV/AIDS and Its Impacts” given to ECSU`s Employees
HIV/AIDS Management Unit, HAMU, gave training to 15 ECSU staff drawn from Students` Clinic & Press Department on June 4, 2014 for half day. The main objective of the training was enhancing the knowledge, skills and attitude of the trainees on how to prevent the spread and effects of HIV/AIDS epidemic in their workplace, family and community as a whole.
On top of this, the training gave insights on the impact of the disease on individual, family, society, organization and country level. The training also brought in to light the multi dimensional consequences of the disease. Thus the trainees, by developing their awareness on the disease, are expected to stick to expectations and protect themselves and others.
The participants reflected the benefit of such training, “the training was an eye opening and it gave us comprehensive knowledge from what we know before”. The participants finally suggested that HAMU should continue and strengthn its efforts of providing training to all the university community.
