Training and HIV/AIDS Community Conversation Held
Ethiopian Civil Service University HIV/AIDS Management Unit (HAMU) gave half day training on Peer Education to 29 students drawn from Under and Post graduate programmes on March 15, 2012.
According to Ato Anteneh Mekonnen, Consultant and Training and Research Coordinator at HIV/AIDS Management Unit, the main objective of the training was to maintain students' knowledge, skill and attitudes on workplace HIV& AIDS management to support the national response against HIV&AIDS through peer education.Ato Anteneh said
" Beside this, the training is designed to encourage the students to take leadership role in mainstreaming HIV&AIDS when they go back to their work places "
In related development about 30 ECSU library staff held half day HIV community conversation on March 15, 2012.
The main objective of the conversations was to promote ECSU's community participation in the fight against HIV and AIDS and scale up mainstreaming efforts at different sections of the University. During the conversation participants discussed on HIV/AIDS related issues and agreed to support peoples living with HIV at University level.
This community conversation program will continue in different sections of the University as per HIV/AIDS Management Unit BSC plan.
