The Universiy Graduated 271 Students
Ethiopian Civil Service University graduated 271 students in Bachelor and Maters degree on February 12, 2011.The graduation ceremony was held at the University`s new conference hall and the University`s president, academic vice president, senate members, academic and administration staff of the University and families of the graduates attended the Ceremony.
Addressing the gathering Honorable Dr. Hailemichael Abera, President of the Universiy said
" among the key policies and strategies formulated in the country to ensure the prevalence of peace, democracy and good governance and bring about development is Execution capacity building. "
And the objective of execution capacity building program is to bring about change at all levels, he added.
Dr. Hailemichael also said the capacity building program is given priority in the five years Growth and Transformation Plan of the Country. The GTP is believed to transform Ethiopia in to a middle income nation. In line with this, our Universiy is working hard taking the civil service at the center of its services. In addition to offering specialized education and providing training, consultancy, research and professional certification services, the Universiy is discharging its responsibility by assisting the federal and regional civil service institutions in their effort to implement BPR and BSC.
According to Dr. Hailemichael currently, nine thousand students are enrolled in different fields of studies and programs and three hundred academic staff holding PhD and Masters Degrees are giving their services as well. The president also said the University graduated more than 15 thousand students in Masters and bachelor degrees and diplomas till date. He concluded by stating that the University opened three Doctorate and three Masters programs this year. In addition to these specialized education programs, the University is delivering services in short courses and research works.
Dr. Hailemichael urged the graduates to play their part for effective implementation of the GTP and strengthen democratization process and good governance by being change agents and true servant of the public.
Dr. Hailemichael finally thanked the Universiys instructors and other workers and students for their efforts to make our objectives a reality. He also thanked the regional governments, federal ministries, different countries, non governmental organizations and the graduation committee.
The graduates conducted swearing of an oath to serve the public effectively and efficiently.
