ECSU Community Discusses On 2008 University’s Plan And Current Affairs
Ethiopian Civil Service University community held discussion for five days on the accomplishment of 2008 plan and 2009 university’s plan and current national affairs. The discussion held from September 29 to October 5 2016. All Instructors, Consultants and Administrative staffs participated in the discussion.
On his opening remarks, Professor Fekadu Beyene, Ethiopian Civil Service University President, welcomed the university’s community and requested all the participants to participate actively and freely on the discussion. He also said the discussion focused on quality of education and the challenges and achievements of the governments for the last 25 years, the importance of building one shared political and social societies and our university working plan for (2009 EC) academic year. This training is important to create awareness on fighting against rent seeking activities, create a good atmosphere to build a national consensus and build an efficient change army, prof. Fekadu Beyene underscored.
On the training four papers on different topics presented by university’s scholars to the audiences and the participants break out in syndicates and discuss on the issues. The university community also held a hot debate on the issue raised under the topics of developmental democratic state, Federalism in Ethiopia, the challenges and achievements for the last 25 years as well as the roles of higher educational institutions in building peace and democracy of the country. The discussion chaired by the university’s president and vice presidents.
The presenters pointed out in their presentation that a double digit economic growth has been registered for the last 10 consecutive years. By struggling against foreign influences our country is now brought sustainable fundamental changes. To bring good governances and fair wealth distribution need the participation of all citizens. It is also taken as the next agenda at national level Dr. Teshome Adugna added.
The University’s (2009 EC)academic year working plan was presented to academic, consultants and administrative staffs and discussed on the accomplishment of 2008 academic year plan . The university community has thoroughly discussed and commented on it.
