ECSU Research and Community Service Consultation Workshop held
Ethiopian Civil Service University Research and Community Service held a day Consultation Workshop with stakeholders on October 6, 2016 at Hidasse Hall. The stakeholders were drawn from different regional and city administration civil sector institutions.
On his opening speech, Professor Fekadu Beyene, Ethiopian Civil Service University president, said our university has played significant role in building capacity of civil servants through training, research and consultancy. Due to the increasing demand of our society and the complex problems that we have, it is important to work closely together with every stakeholder. Besides, our regular teaching and training activities, we are working to identify the challenges and constraints observed in different civil sector offices and propose scientific solutions to solve these problems. In this first consultation workshop of the year 2016, we will discuss to identify prior research areas and create common understanding to set directions for our future research activities, Professor Fekadu Beyene added.
On the consultation workshop Ato Berhanu Belayneh, vice President for Research and Community Service, presented an overview of the Ethiopian Civil Service University Research and Community Service purposes and plan. This workshop helps us to connect the university to the public sector stakeholders and conduct our researches on the needs of the society at large Ato Berhanu Belayneh said.
D/r Teshome Tafesse Director of Research and Publication Coordination Office, on his part welcomed the participants and said this workshop has a great significance to discuss and identify research areas with stakeholders. This in turn contributes to discharge the responsibility and fulfill the vision of Research and Community Service Division in particular and Ethiopian Civil Service University in general.
The participants on their behalf expressed their pleasure for taking part on the work shop. They also proposed some research areas to be taken as a major focus for thematic research activities by the university research division.
