Centers Hold Research Validation Workshops
Ethiopian Civil Service University Center for Ethics and Integrity and Centre for Research in Public Service Reform organized one day research validation workshop with stakeholders on March 23, 2017 at Hidasse Hall. The research validation workshop was conducted under the theme of Public Service Reform Implementation, Public Service Leadership Ethics and Public Perception on Corruption and Corrupt Practices.
In his opening speech Dr. Birhanu Belayneh Ethiopian Civil Service University Research and Community Service Vice President said Ethiopian Civil Service University played its role in overall growth and development of the country for the last twenty five years. It builds the capacity of the public servants through education and bridging the gaps in skills and knowledge by short term trainings. Besides, ECSU, cognizant of the need to intensify research and community service, has been extending its contribution in the area by establishing research and community service wing starting from 2015. Since its establishment it has been working hard in coordinating more than ninety researches which focused on the issues of the public service. The researches have been conducted by individual researchers and research teams, Dr. Birhanu Blayneh said. He in the occasion thanked the research teams, the stakeholders and the participants of the workshop and requested them to use the research findings as inputs in their future activities.
On the workshop three research papers entitled The Effect of Public Service Reform in Improving the Quality of Public Service Delivery in Addis Ababa City, Assessment of Public Perception on Corruption and Corrupt practices, and Practice and Challenges of Exercising Ethical Leadership in The Ethiopian Public Sector, were presented by three research teams for validation and the participants have conducted in-depth evaluation on each paper and forwarded their comments and suggestion on the research methodologies and findings.
The research papers presented for validation were done by the demand and request of the Ministry of Public Service and Human Resource Development, Federal Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission and Addis Ababa City Administration and have been jointly conducted by ECSU Center for Ethics and Integrity and Centre for Research in Public Service Reform. On the program ECSU higher administrations, invited guests, scholars and stakeholders have participated.
