ECSU Donates Food Stuff
In Response to “National Food Sharing Campaign’’ ECSU has donated foodstuff to the nearby woreda 11and 9 from Yeka and Bole sub cities respectively with low incomes and elderly people on Saturday, August 15, 2020
ECSU president, Professor Fikre Dessalegne, handed over the donation to the needs in a ceremony held at the main campus of the university. He said ECSU has played its role in building the capacity of the public servants for the last 25 years. This time considering the effect of the epidemic, we have contributed our small support and be part of the “National Food Sharing Campaign’’ stated at the national level. We know this is not enough but at least we share the burden of our communities who are elder and low income he underscored.
“I am honored to be part of this National Food Sharing Campaign and helping elderly people and those who need it most. We continue our responsibilities and work together to mitigate the impact of COVID-19,” the president added.
The woreda 11 and 9 representatives on their part thanked the ECSU community for the donation and asked the university to continue such aid and play its responsibility.
The food supplies distributed to 300 elderly and needy people selected from worda11 and 9 in the tow sub-cities who were particularly vulnerable to the pandemic .For individual person, 25 kg flour and 5-liter palm oil were distributed.
