The Facility of DLC Found to Be Most Preferable by University of South Africa
The Ethiopian Civil Service University Development Learning Center (ECSU DLC) was found to be the most preferable for an internet-based training in Ethiopia by the University of South Africa (UNISA).
UNISA gave an internet-based training for 120 PhD students drawn from government universities and organizations across Ethiopia on PhD proposal Preparation from May 20 to 24, 2013. Another web-based training was also given to the same participants at the DLC from April 15 to 19, 2013.
Deputy Director of Academic Support with the UNISA in Addis Ababa, Tsigie Geberemeskel, said that they looked for other places where they could conduct the web-based training but there is either problem with the internet connection or in sufficient rooms to accommodate many participants at atime. Here at the ECSU DLC, UNISA could train 120 participants at the same time. She said,
“The internet connection is fast and reliable and you can record the training sessions as the facility is there.”
Tsiege said UNISA plans to continue using the ECSU DLC facility in the future.
Training Coordinator of the ECSU DLC, Aleazar Ali said
"they made a survey during the previous training organized by UNISA and 96.4 per cent of the participants said they were happy with the facility and other services provided by the university including refreshment and food."
