Ethiopian Civil Service University Graduates Students
Ethiopian Civil Service University graduated 1131 students with Masters and Bachelor degrees on July 19, 2015 at IUDS campus of the University in the presence of Her Excellency W/ro Aster Mamo with the rank of Deputy Prime Minister Coordinator of Good Governance and Reform Cluster and Minister of the Civil Service, other higher government officials and the University Community.
Guest of honor Her Excellency W/ro Aster Mamo with the rank of Deputy Prime Minister Coordinator of Good Governance and Reform Cluster and Minister of the Civil Service said that she is happy to attend the great ceremony and share the happiest day of the University. She added ECSU is playing a pevotal role in building human power that take part in the transformation of new Ethiopia and in building developmental democratic state .The University is becoming a center of excellence in building the capacity of the civil servants of the country. It plays an irreplaceable role in the civil service system of the country." You have great responsibility for the development of the country. Your effort bore fruit and your years as students in the University completed successfully. I wish you all the best in your future achievements”, she said to the graduates. She finally urged them to fight rent seeking and develop developmental attitude of themselves and other citizens.
In his opening remarks, Ethiopian Civil Service University President, Dr. Hailemichael Aberra said that the University delivered specialized educational programs which are not given in other universities .The University plays a great role by designing new programs that coincide with government policies and strategies.
He further noted that the university opened different specialized programs at post graduate level to train the civil servants of the country. Besides this the university played a great role in building the capacity of public service through specialized education, training, consultancy, research and community service for the last two decades .Finally he congratulated all graduates, the University community and families of the graduates.
Professor Mohamed Mihileh Bogore, chairman of Somali land Civil Service Commission also delivered a speech to the audience. He said, today I am pleased to participate with you to this enjoyable occasion. Graduating students can really bring the improvement of public service delivery in to better ways. From 2006 up to now the civil service institute (CSI) of Somali land and Ethiopian Civil Service University had close relationships, links and collaboration in which Dr. Hailemichel has the credit to the establishment of this cooperation. So ECSU offers scholarship every year to our civil servants. As a Somali land delegation, I thank all Ethiopians and particularly ECSU and the president of the University said prof. Mohamed Mihileh.
Guest of honor of the ceremony, H.E W/ro Aster Mamo, has handed out awards and degrees for graduates and the programs concluded with the national anthem of Ethiopia.
In this academic year, 495 civil servants with first degree and 636 civil servants in second degree graduated. Among the total number of graduates, 299 were female.
