Training aimed at aligning the financial management system of the World Bank with that of the government of Ethiopia was launched on Monday, November 18, 2013 at ECSU. Opening the training, Country Director of the World Bank for Ethiopia, Guang Z. Chen, said that

" the training would raise the awareness of the participants on the financial management systems, rules and regulations of both the World Bank and the government, so that civil servants who work in projects financed by the World Bank are able to align them without neglecting either of them."

A German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) e-learning expert Elke Wemhoff said, “E-learning is the future.” She said this at the opening of an E-Learning (Electronic Learning) development implementation kick off workshop at the ECSU Development Learning Center on November 5, 2013.

Opening the workshop, President of ECSU, Dr. Hailemichael Aberra said,

“E-learning is new to the country and to our university. And there is a challenge in introducing it.”
