Students of London University visit ECSU

About 35 postgraduate students and four staff members of the University of London, England, visited the Ethiopian Civil Service University on May 13, 2011.The group also held discussions at Development Learning Center of the University with the President, Honorable Dr. Hailemicheal Aberra on different issues about Ethiopia and ECSU.

Reforming the Civil Service is said Important to Achieve the Vision of Ethiopia

The 4th National Conference on “Efficiency and Effectiveness of the Public Services” was held on May 31, 2011 at the Ethiopian Civil Service University.

The Ethiopian Civil Service University (ECSU) Research and Publication Coordination Office organized the Conference. Participants drawn from different federal and regional government organizations and University staff attended the conference.

ECSU Community Colorfully Celebrates May 28

Ethiopian Civil Service University Community Celebrates the 20th anniversary of the downfall of the Derg regime on June 1, 2011 at Kotebe campus. Honorable Dr. Hailemichael Abera, president of the University, Dr. Samson Kassahun Academic Vice President and Dr. Mekonnen Jemaneh Administrative Vice President, the University’s academic and administration staff and more than 1500 students attended the celebration.

ECSU and KNU Sign Memorandum of Understanding

President of the Kangwon National University (KNU) Dr. Yong Jung Kwon and his two colleagues visited Ethiopian Civil Service University on November 26, 2010.The visit aims at discussing about possible areas of cooperation and signing Memorandum of Understanding.

Accordingly, Honorable Dr. Hailemichael Aberra, President of the University and Dr. Yong Jung Kwon, KNU president singed a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding in the presence of institute directors, department heads and administrative support heads.

ECSU Donates educational materials and office Furniture

Ethiopian Civil Service University has donated various educational materials and office furniture to 10 government college public schools in Yeka sub city. According to W/ro Hirut G/ Tsadik the University’s property administration officer , the University donates 1320 chairs, 150 gross of chalk, 30 blackboards, 40 guest chairs and 80 tables to these schools.

ECSU community Pledges to Support the Grand Renessance Dam.

Ethiopian Civil Service University academic and administration staff and more than 2700 students unanimously agreed to give their support for the construction of the Grand Renaissance Dam. The University community expressed their support after discussing on the issue on April 12, 2011.

ECSU Celebrated International Women's Day

Ethiopian Civil Service University employees and students celebrated International Women's Day (March 8) on March 8, 2011 at the University’s main compass under the theme “Active participation of women is crucial for the success of the GTP.”

In the occasion Honorable Dr. Hailemichael Abera, President of the University, Lieutenant Colonel Fitsum G/Egziabhere, Director, Finance Directorate for Ministry of Defense, Institute directors, instructors and other female employees and students of the University were in attendance.

ECSU Celebrated the Teaching Learning Day

The Ethiopian Civil Service University Celebrated the Teaching Learning Day, the first ever in the University’s history, on November 19, 2010 at its main premises with the presence of the University President, Academic Vice President, instructors, staff and students.

On this remarkable day the University gave Teaching Learning Recognition Award for six best instructors drawn from four institutes and one centre. The recipients were selected based on their competence and commitment on duties and responsibilities they are given.

ECBP Donates E-Books to ECSU

The Ethiopian Engineering Capacity Building Program Office (ECBP) has donated 62,000 electronics books to the Ethiopian Civil Service University.

The Engineering Capacity Building Program (ECBP) was launched in November 2005 to enhance the role of the industrial sector as a source of employment and economic growth, and to improve its contribution to the country's international trade. This bilateral Ethiopian-German program forms the core of the priority area of sustainable economic development.
